There is no entrance fee for this park.

Cedar Key Scrub State Reserve is a joint managed area located in the western edge of Levy County. The property is managed by the Division of Recreation and Parks, Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, and the Division of Forestry.

Park Activities

Canoeing
The shallow waters and numerous creeks near the salt marsh provide excellent opportunities for canoeing and kayaking. Rental canoes and kayaks are available in nearby Cedar Key.

Fishing
Saltwater fishing is popular in the adjacent waters.


Nature Trails
The reserve utilizes existing jeep trails for multi-use trails, totaling about four miles on the east portion and eight miles on the western portion. The reserve is divided into two portions by CR347 which runs between Cedar Keys and Fowlers Bluff. These trails are primarily used for hiking, but are also available for bicycling and horseback riding. The diverse habitats of the reserve provide opportunities for nature study and wildlife observation.

Picnicking
A small picnic area with a waterless composting toilet is located at the trail head on the eastern portion of the reserve. A picnic shelter, picnic tables, grills, and informational kiosk are also located in this area. The trailhead has a stabilized parking area to accommodate about 15 vehicles.


Yellow Bluff Fort Historic State Park

Jacksonville, Florida 32226
Located near the mouth of the St. Johns River, this site was an important military position during the Civil War, allowing access to the inland areas of Florida's east coast. There was never an actual fort on Yellow Bluff, but an encampment that was fortified and equipped with large guns for protection. Pumpkin Hill Creek Preserve State Park

Wildlife is abundant and ranges from the threatened American alligator to the endangered wood stork. Equestrians, hikers, and off-road bicyclists can explore five miles of multi-use trails that wind through the park's many different natural communities. The park has a canoe/kayak launch accessible by a 500 foot portage to the marshes. Read more






George Crady Bridge Fishing Pier

Located in Jacksonville, this one-mile, pedestrian-only fishing bridge spans Nassau Sound and provides access to one of the best fishing areas in Northeast Florida. Anglers catch a variety of fish, including whiting, jacks, drum and tarpon. Access to the bridge is through Amelia Island State Park.  Read more






Fort Clinch State Park

Fernandina Beach, Florida 32034
Daily tours with period reenactors depicting garrison life bring the fort to life for visitors. Sunbathing, swimming, and beachcombing are popular activities at the beach. Anglers can fish from the pier or take advantage of excellent surf fishing. Hikers and bicyclists can enjoy a six-mile trail through the park. Amelia Island State Park

Amelia Island State Park is one of the few locations on the east coast that offers horseback riding on the beach and riding tours along the shoreline. Fishermen can surf fish along the shoreline or they can wet their line from the mile-long George Crady Bridge Fishing Pier which spans Nassau Sound. Visitors can also stroll along the beach,  look for shells or watch the wildlife.  Read more
